I find that bing is easily manipulated by backlinks. A new site i was recently optimizing for Google was not moving up most probably due ot the fact it was a brand new site. Then I check bing and it’s on the first page for every optimized keyword.

I find that both Bing and Yahoo are very dependant on on-page SEO as well as placing a lot of brownie points in the actual domain name, not unlike Google there I suppose.

Backlink is useful when it is relevent. also banklink from high PR sites is most effective
