I’m not sure if this came in late or somebody was just misinformed. There was no “secret” about it. Microsoft has posted about it repeatedly. Technet Plus and MSDN subscribers gotten access to all versions of the RTM, essentially the final version that you will see on the discs in boxes on October 22nd. Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise/Ultimate… all of them. They got this back on the 6th of August (source: http://tinyurl.com/nu26jt ). Other groups will be getting it very shortly, like Volume License folks ( see this for a timetable: http://tinyurl.com/nrsmj2 ). However, for those who aren’t in on the licensing deals, or aren’t an IT Pro or Developer, you can still get ahold of the Release Candidate until August 20th. That is when they are cutting off new downloads of the RC. You can still get it off of Microsoft’s TechNet here: http://tinyurl.com/9agzvs .

I agree with you ‘DataCabbitKSW’, its no secret and though we seem to have been a bit late on posting this article, many many people seem to be totally unaware of this new step taken by MS. Though they have made repeated announcements, a large number of followers are still in the dark. The links in your comment will surely help them get more information regarding this, even though just 6 days remain.
